RiseMed Health

I would like to thank CJ Gueldner with RiseMed Health for the information provided in this interview. They offer benefit plans to individuals, companies and associations.

Anita: I understand there are many benefit plans in the marketplace – What’s different about your plans?

CJ: Good questions. Yes, it is true that there are many benefit and insurance plans in the marketplace. What makes our plans different is that they are designed with the end user in mind.

You see individuals had been mandated to have enrolled into benefit insurance plans. However, all plans never took the end user into mind when it came to price, usage or access to care – but our plans do.

As agents we come across many plan designs which range in cost. However, we’ve taken the time to research plans that benefit our consumer.

Our plans range from:

Just Telemedicine which include behavior and mental health

A Telemedicine plan which includes Formulary Tier 1 or Tier 2 drugs at an affordable price.

Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plans which are ACA compliant to cover preventative health services, Telemedicine, Formulary Drug Coverage, and some hospitalization for in-network and additional plans which include out-of-network.

We also have Limited Benefit Plans (LBP) which include everything a MEC Plans covers, plus more coverage and benefits for the member. These plans cost a little bit more, however, they cover more services which include more formulary drug coverage (Tier 1, Tier 2 and some Tier 3) and more hospitalization and urgent care. These LBP plans are designed for individuals that fall into disease management or prenatal. They are unique plans that address health coverage enrollment for individuals who are in limbo and/or missed the open enrollment process. The plans are also designed for individuals who don’t need a major medical plan but need access to care and general formulary drug coverage. Also, you can enroll into these plans at any given time throughout the year.

We also have major medical plans too.

Anita: So, what network are you with?

CJ: Well, the plans I just mentioned are under the Aetna, First Health and USA PPO Network. Yes, that is correct a national PPO network that follows you wherever you go in the U.S.

The network is so easy to search for a PPO provider, Urgent Care Center, and Lab. What’s great about this network is that you can easy within seconds create a personalized directory no matter where you’re at in the U.S. …. And the plans are affordable!

Anita: You mentioned Telemedicine? Can you tell me about it and how it works?

CJ:  Yeah. Definitely! Our Telemedicine by Remedy.me is amazing! We provide it as a stand-a-alone product, and/or it is automatically included into each of our plan designs. The service is available 365/24/7 days a year (English & Spanish), is available for resident and non-resident, and includes the standard services offered by every other Telemedicine company in the market. However, our plans include more services like:

  • Behavior health
  • Mental health
  • Domestic Violence and family counseling
  • Diet and Nutrition counseling
  • And so, so much more.

Anita: The Telemedicine sounds incredible – Can you tell me about the Drug Coverage?

CJ: Yes. Our formulary drug coverage is by Integrated Prescription Management (IPM) who also created E-Script. By having them manage the formulary drug coverage for the plans – provides more Rx Prescription coverage under Tier1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.

When a member is enrolled into a plan which includes formulary drug coverage. They will be prompted to create a user profile with IPM, update their current Rx coverage within their IPM profile to receive helpful notification pertaining to their prescription coverage. Also, this way IPM can validate their Rx with Retailers. And remember, our PPO plans and formulary drug coverage follow you within the U.S

Anita: Well, your plans sound amazing? Is there anything else we should know about the plans?

CJ: Yes, well the plans are offered under RiseMed by Medical Access Network. The network is an association which offers plans at an affordable price point with year-round enrollment options. The plans also include Identity Theft Protection. Isn’t that amazing. Now, can you name a plan that also include that for its member other than ours? No, I can’t!

Anita: Can you tell me how your claims are handled?

CJ: This makes access to care, pre-authorization and the adjudication of the claim simple in providing the member a summary of benefits (SOB).

Anita: How long have these plans been available? Why haven’t I heard about them before?

CJ: Good question! These plans have been available for several years. They’re even available during open enrollment under the healthcare exchange. Like I mentioned earlier, we took time to do our research to partner with Medical Access Network in providing these plans to the consumer as RiseMed and RiseMed Health.

Anita: So, where can someone go to enroll or find additional information

CJ: They can call (833) 203-2210 Or (775) 241-8508 go to www.risemedhealth.com.

How Employer’s Should Fire an Employee

Uncategorized

I recently found myself in the backroom talking to the Owner’s about my shortcomings of not being able to meet their criteria. I knew about some things that were not on the up and up within the business.

After realizing my age and that I am unable to do what was being asked of me I was let go. No real warning other than everyone else knew but me. I have also learned that client’s even knew before I did.

Lack of professionalism can really affect a business. Word of Mouth is very important even more so than social media.

I also may add that my State Licenses to practice my craft were lost. I had 2 only 1 has been found and returned. It’s not the fact that they can be duplicated it’s the fact of not being on top of the paperwork! I never even made it to be hung on the wall with the others.

I am speaking out because I have been wondering “What happened to the pampering in a salon?” I know most of us want in and out but what about the “me time” factor. The salon use to be about being treated like a queen. Now all I see is the $$$ in people’s eyes. I don’t know maybe its just me but I like the person working on me not to make me a number and to interact with me.

This experience lead me to offer some suggestions when firing someone. Here is a great article I found as a guide for those needing a little direction.

I was good enough to come in whenever needed, run errands, take care of the painting, merchandising, answer the phone, greet people, inventory etc… but in the end I was too old and too slow. This really saddens me to think money is replacing quality work when servicing people. This is my 8th attempt at being in a salon. I decided maybe it’s time to hang it up and move into a new career path.

I do have a talk show but I pay for my own airtime and ask nothing from my guests at this time. I hope to take Business Connections out on the road in the future.

I hope you find the article as helpful as I did. I feel that by reading it helped me to know I did my best and this was no fault of my own.
Until next time! Have a great rest of the week.

Interview with Tribute Band The Floyd

Business Connections with Anita/afdesigns.online

Interview with:   The Floyd —   Dean Rossi, Vince Gates & Lisa McCuiston

The Floyd Band

Hello Blogger friends. I have with me a tribute band that plays not only locally but regionally so be sure to stay tuned.  Biz Connections with Anita was created to connect Businesses with New Potential Customers in need of your product or services.  For example, Connecting Willow Bill to Loera’s Landscape.  Loera’s Landscape is volunteering to aid in the largest art project in Northern Nevada and it involves our kid’s artwork in the community.  Today I welcome The Floyd band I have in the studio Band members Dean Rossi, Vince Gates and Lisa McCuiston  I know my Blogger friends are excited to learn more about you!  Thanks for being here today!

The Floyd Response:  All: Thank you for having us

Anita: How did the band come up with its name and is there a meaning behind the name?

The Floyd Response:  Dean: Great question… It was I felt was important for it to be short easy to remember, have a direct connection with the name Pink Floyd and easy for people to see and read on a large sign marquee!  So folks would know instantly what it was!

Anita: Can you tell our Blogger friends what kind of style and sound your band has?

The Floyd Response:  Vince or Lisa:  Soulful, detailed and meticulous to the original Pink Floyd’s catalog, etc.

Anita: Where do you see the band in five years?

The Floyd Response:  Vince or Lisa: With luck doing what we’re doing now. We enjoy NOT having typical outside pressures of band growth… we have been fortunate not to have to answer to record companies, wealthy patrons etc.  Because of this we’re allowed to let this tribute to grow organically—that is, driven from our fans and no other external forces. We of course would always like to think that in five years we’ll be a better band musically!  Tighter and even more refined. That goal remains the same always.

Anita: can you tell our Blogger friends what achievements the band has received?

The Floyd Response:  Dean:  We were honored last year to receive a FOTRTE award here in our area. FORTE stands for Friends Of  Reno Tahoe Entrainment. It’s a great fundraising effort for local charities with a fancy Oscar/Grammy style black–tie Awards show at the Grand Sierra’s 4000-seat Theater. We won two awards: Best Tribute Band and Lisa here won Best Female vocalist. Both are honorable awards as we were up against some really great bands from the area. Lisa beat out 12 other nominees… and so just to be nominated was an honor.

Anita: If someone is interested in having your band play at their establishment how can they contact you?

The Floyd Response:  Vice or Lisa: hey can contact us through our website www.thefloydband.com or find us on Facebook. We do occasionally do private events and have on coming up at the Atlantic in November.  We have even been asked to play at Burning Man numerous times.

Anita: The Floyd will be performing in Carson City on Oct 13th this Saturday at the Carson City Community Center. Be sure to catch em there!

Anita:  How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together?

The Floyd Response:  Lisa and Vince:

I think we’re tighter, more evolved musically

Anita:  What has been your biggest challenge as a band? Have you been able to overcome that challenge? If so, how?  The Floyd Response:

Dean: For me the biggest challenge has been developing the band into a SHOW. This includes fairly a elaborate stage presentation with lasers, lights video and even surround sound. There are a lot of bands in this area that simply play gig to gig—song to song.  Few have evolved to the point where audiences experience a total show with continuity and forethought to create a beginning, a middle and an end. Making this leap is very difficult. It takes vision and a lot of hard work—fortunately for us it’s allowed this band to break the 250-350 “friends ceiling”. This is what most area bands draw when they put on and promote their own shows. We through creating the show I mention have been able to break through this barrier with no opening acts and decent real-world ticket prices. I cant tell you how great it feels to have this pay off for us… of course having the Pink Floyd name and legacy doesn’t hurt either!

Vice and Lisa: [Please feel free to chime in YOUR biggest challenge!]

Anita: What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

The Floyd Response:   Dean: Just go for it. Create a vision and execute it. Most of all find the BEST PEOPLE you can find to play music with and always put the music first… that’s worked well for the biggest bands in the world down to us doing regional and local shows. Finally don’t be discouraged by negative people or be swayed by outside opinions. I suggest to do your own thing and follow your vision. The rest will come. Also, as hard as it is, keep the create separate from the business. They don’t mix!

Anita: Is there anyone you would like to acknowledge?

The Floyd Response:  Yes! Vince and Lisa & Dean: Yes!  Dean will talk to the experienced and talented Floyd technical crew members that make the show special… also our local fans

Anita:

Closing Comments:  Thanks so much to The Floyd for joining me today.  Blogger friends you got to get out an hear The Floyd.  Most of their shows sell out so make sure when you see their events you get tickets early!  me if you would like to be a guest on my show. Importance of Training & Personal Safety

Uncategorized

Interview with Joel Durden from Lockwood Gun Training Importance of Training & Personal Safety

Joel  at Lockwood Gun Training has training available on “Don’t Be a Victim Class” The class is about 4 hours long and a fee of only $25.  This is a non firearm class that is packed with valuable information on how to prevent being the victim of a crime by being a harder target.. If you are interested please contact Joel @ 775-813-8130 or visit his website at lockwoodguntraining.com.

Recently, I found myself in such a similar situation.  It involved a robber in a store here locally.  Due to my prior training I believe it is what kept me safe.  Bottom line folks is this… Be aware, see the whole picture, remain calm and in my case I kept eye contact with other victims.  We all made it safely through the incident and because of courage of those involved there was no injuries and the robber was caught the next day. In today’s crazy world we must become more aware.  Go with your gut!

Anita:  Joel can you give my radio friends a little background on you?

Joel Response: I’m an Army Military Police Veteran and a prior Law Enforcement Officer having worked in the State of Nevada as a correctional officer.

Anita: Why are you so passionate about training folks in firearms and personal security?

Joel Response: I believe teaching others hot to protect themselves and their families makes community a safer place to live. Let’s face the facts, in general criminals like easier targets.

Anita: How is your training different from others in our area?

Joel Response: I think my prior training and experience gives me my edge over others, it gives me my passion to train others to the absolute best of my ability. It is said that if you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics suck, so learn all the tactics you can. This is why I strongly suggest that anyone looking to get firearms training, to interview the instructor and find out if they are the right instructor for you.  Do they have the background, training and life experience to provide the level of training the individual is looking for?

Anita: Let’s talk about the mindset of a criminal for a minute.  Criminal Predators have some of these characteristics:

Manipulative, Viewing niceness as a weakness, Constantly looking for criminal opportunities, overconfidence, demeaning their victims to increase their sense of self worth, blending in with the crowd so they do not appear threatening and look innocent. Criminal’s don’t think reasonably, rationally or responsibly.

Every situation involved with a criminal is unique. I believe this is because all environments bring to the table different situations like how many people are around, what is the criminal after, what weapons are present etc.

Anita: Joel what are some ways we can prepare ourselves against criminals?

Joel Response: Situational awareness is absolutely key in preventing crime, at home, work, in your car and on social media. The Refuse to be a Victim Seminar covers all of these areas and others.  The seminar points out east to use strategies everyone can employ. One example is by NOT keeping your registration and insurance card in your glovebox, these have your home address on them, so a criminal that breaks in your care in the parking lot at work NOW knows where you live and if you have a garage door opener in your car that can also be an easy in for the criminal.

Anita: What is meant by personal security?

Joel Response: In a nut shell, Situational Awareness and employing strategies to make yourself a harder target for criminals.

Anita: How can my Blogger friends secure their homes against intruders?

Joel Response: Keep your doors locked, reinforce points of entry, such as doors by replacing the ¾” screws holding the latch plates to 3” screws, this will strengthen the door making it a lot harder for someone to force the door open.  Surveillance Cameras, real or decoy cameras will deter criminals, they don’t want to get caught.

Anita: What if I am at a stoplight or sitting in my car somewhere checking my emails and missed calls how can we stay safe while in our cars?

Joel Response: Simply lock your doors once you’re in your vehicle. When you park, back in if possible, this allows you to drive off faster than having to back up if you are approached. Maintain a situational awareness.

Anita: What are some good personal devices people can carry with them?

Joel Response: The best personal device is the one you are familiar with and you can carry with confidence and use effectively. In Nevada, pepper spray and tasers are legal to carry, restrictions to apply from state to state so research what is acceptable in your State. For those that are inclined to do so, a firearm. People need to understand that using a firearm in a defensive situation is hugely different than going to a range and they need to have ongoing training than what a CCW class will teach them.

Anita: I am not sure about my radio friends but I know for myself I have a hard time staying alert every minute with all that happens in a day, not to mention all the things we have our minds on to pick up the kids, get to the store etc.. Do you have any suggestions to clear the clutter and stay Alert?

Joel Response: Situational awareness is a relaxed state of awareness, it doesn’t mean you have to constantly be looking around, it involves all your senses, including your “GUT” as you mentioned earlier, trust your gut!

Anita: What other types of training do you offer?

Joel Response: In addition to firearms and personal protection classes; I also teach basic and advanced reloading. I’m available for coaching sessions, as well as customized tailored classes designed to fit and individuals needs.

Anita: Where can folks sign up for your classes?

Joel Response: They can reach me directly at 775-813-8130, I also have a contact form on my website at https://lockwoodguntraining.com or by going to nrainstructors.org

Anita: As I was preparing for today’s show I got to thinking about names of businesses and how a criminal may think they are easy prey. Joel do you think a business name can invite criminals?

Joel Response: I think the type of business attracts criminals more than a name does.

Anita: Do you offer classes for kids?

Joel Response: The Eddie Eagle gun safe program is an excellent class for younger kids. The basics of the program is to teach kids to Stop, Don’t touch, leave the area and tell an adult. Education is the key to keeping kids safe around guns. Personally, when my kids were younger I never made guns taboo, that just makes kids more curious. I educated them on gun safety. Ultimately gun owners are responsible to keep their firearms secured in a manner that prevents unauthorized people from gaining access to them. However, I do make all my classes available to kids when their parents are attending the same course. My rule of thumb is 12 years of age and older. However, it is best left up to the parents judgment to determine if their child is old enough and responsible enough to attend any of my classes.

Most businesses run on passion hoping the money comes J at least I know from my experience.  I believe it comes from the heart and loving on people who purchase your products or services.  I have been fulfilled so many times just giving the passion in everything I do. Money to me is just a tool to use to get to where you want to be, but relationships built on trust, your passion and good customer service outlasts the money in many cases.  It’s ok to disagree with me, but until you know the whole story don’t judge me lol.

Anita: Joel is there anything else you would like my Blog friends to know about Lockwood Gun Training?

Joel Response: I wear all the hats at Lockwood Gun Training, as I’m a one man operation, so if they call and I’m not available to answer the phone, please leave a message or shoot me a text and I will get back to them as soon as I can.

Joel thank you so much for sharing your business with my Blogger friends today I know they have learned a lot from you today. I will be posting links on afdesigns.online if you need any information about any of my interviewed guests be sure to check them out on my links page. https://afdesigns.online
